WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE KIDS KLOSET IS A COMMUNITY OF MOMS, DADS, GRANDPARENTS AND CAREGIVERS COMING TOGETHER TO HELP EACH OTHER, HELP THE ENVIRONMENT AND HELP THEIR KIDS.

WE ARE A RE-SALE EVENT, WE ARE A SOCIAL EVENT AND WE ARE A COMMUNITY EVENT.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

The Kids Kloset Consignment events started back in 2008 when the concept of re-sell, re-cycle and re-use was not well known in our area and Kids Consignment Events were virtually unknown. I am the proud mom of two great kids, a 23 year old son who is a United States Marine and a 16 year old son who is an amazing help with TKK.

When my children were growing up, I did not have the money to buy expensive retail clothing or many other items they needed or wanted. I relied on the very few consignment shops that were on Long Island at the time and they mainly only sold clothing and nothing else. They were also few and far between and I always longed for a place to purchase good quality, gently-used or even new items including not just clothing, but toys, books, movies, games, accessories and everything else kids need. That dream became a reality back in 2000 when on a business trip for my day job down south; I discovered the kid’s consignment event. From that point on, I was HOOKED!  I quickly became friends with the coordinators of that event and before I knew it, I was using my background in marketing and promotion to help them market, coordinate and run their events. During the course of my years working with these amazing ladies, they tried many times to convince me to start up a similar event here in New York. I hesitated a bit and then finally said if I loved the concept so much, others would too.

We started out in a 1500 sq. foot facility with just 75 consignors and 7,000 items and we have grown to 2 locations, over 30,000 sq. foot facilities, over 450 consignors and over 100,000 items each sale season. This has been a true labor of love for me and something I am truly passionate about. The friendships I have made and our consignors and shoppers have made are worth every ounce of effort it has taken to get here. I am so blessed by all of our shoppers and consignors that have become like family. Each and every one of them is helping their own families and helping other families by participating. There is something truly special about TKK as many have told me before. It’s not just an event, it’s so much more. If you are new to TKK, we welcome you, and  I guarantee you will be hooked just as I was.

All The Best-

Gail
